Amand Rassenfosse (1862 Liège - 1934 ibid.) after Félicien Rops (1833 Namur - 1898 Essonnes): "Bonne Hollandaise", lady at the toilet, looking at herself in the mirror with her breast exposed, 19th century, Vernis Mou Technique: Vernis Mou and Aquatint on Paper Inscription: Upper right monogrammed: "FR". Upper right inscribed in the printing plate: "Bonne Hollandaise ". Date: 19th century Description: The work shows a young woman in frontal view with headgear but bare chest. She is looking at herself in the mirror and appears to be absorbed in a moment of introspection. A delicate, pastel-coloured palette emphasises the intimacy of the scene. Subtly accentuated by hatching and soft shading, the depiction has a sensual atmosphere.
