PARIS (1848-1908), The ride, Watercolor Alfred Paris (around 1848 Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) - 1908 Fontaine-Bonneleau (Oise)): The ride Charging hussars on a forest path, 19th century, Watercolor Technique: White heightened Watercolor on Paper Stamp: Verso Collector's stamp, Kulturhistorisches Museum Magdeburg. Magdeburg Inscription: lower left signed: "Alfred Paris". Lower right inscribed by the artist's hand: "GK". Verso further inscription: "Geschenk des Zaren an General Konrad". Date: 19th century Description: Impressive and awe-inspiring depiction of a charging hussar regiment with drawn sabres. According to the inscription on the reverse, a gift from the Tsar to General Konrad. Provenance: Cultural History Museum Magdeburg. Returned to the rightful owners in 2016.
