Dolcibene (18th century): Bas-relief on a sarcophagus with five deeds of Hercules, 18th century, Etching Technique: Etching on Paper Inscription: At the lower part signed in the printing plate: "Dolcibene dis. / Rastaini inc.". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Facciata di Sarcofago con basrilievo rappresentante cinque delle famose forse d' Ercole". Date: 18th century Description: The graphic presents a figurative relief depicting mythological scenes with the famous tasks of Hercules with sensuous dynamism. The figures are stylised and embedded in the architectural frame of the sarcophagus - an example of classical artistic interpretation.
