DIES (1755-1822), View of Lake Nemi, 1799, Etching Albert Christoph Dies (1755 Hannover - 1822 Vienna): View of Lake Nemi in the Campagna Romana, 1799, Etching Technique: Etching on Paper Inscription: lower left signed in the printing plate: "A. C. Dies f.". At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "Lago di Nemi". lower left dated: "Romae 1792". Date: 1799 Description: The engraving presents an idyllic landscape depiction of Lake Nemi, framed by lush vegetation and hills. Architectural elements on the hills blend harmoniously into the scenery. Cloud formations complement the atmospheric composition. Probably a later print for the French-language edition of the "Malerisch radirte Prospekte von Italien".
