After DÜRER (*1471), Christ on the cross, Copper engraving After Albrecht Dürer (1471 Nuremberg - 1528 ibid.): Jesus Christ on the cross, 18th century, Copper engraving Technique: Copper engraving on Paper Inscription: At the lower part inscribed in the printing plate: "AD 1511". Verso further inscription: "Copie fehlt bei Heller". Date: 18th century Description: Reverse copy with Dürer's monogram and date. Inscribed "AD" lower left, inscribed "1511" on the right. The image corresponds to sheet 11 from Dürer's engraved Passion, which was created between 1507 and 1512. This copy is very accurate, but does not match Dürer's precision in detail. In addition, the panel "INRI" differs in that there is a clear space in the centre.
