Pitau sculp. 1663.". Lower middle inscribed in the printing plate: "Benjaminus Priolus / Santo. Juliani. F. / Eques Venetus / Rerum Gallicarum Scriptor / florentissimus.". Date: c. 1650 Description: The portrait of Benjamin Priolo shows the historian sitting at a desk. His head is turned towards the left edge of the picture. He is wearing a hat and a buttoned robe. In his right hand he is holding a quill pen with which he is writing on a sheet of paper. His left hand is resting on an upright book.
