VICENTE GARCÍA MIRALLES (Valencia, active in the late 1920s and early 1930s). Chair. Curved wood and grille. Measurements: 78 x 42 x 52 cm; 45 cm (seat height). Chair with a very light curved wood structure, with seat and back in grids. The legs adopt the shape of a square with rounded corners, extracting the maximum effectiveness from the curved shapes in contrast to the straight ones. Vicente García Miralles was an outstanding designer who specialized in the creation of furniture using curved wood. This aesthetic - in reality an antecedent of tubular furniture - was inaugurated by the Viennese firm Kohn and followed in Valencia first by Luis Suay and later by García Miralles himself. The models of Suay and Vicente García Miralles can be seen in the Espai Corbat of the Fundació Caixa Vinaròs.
