JAPAN, Edo period. Japanese short sword called wakisashi. Koshiare mounted blade. 42 cm curved blade with double Bo-Hi. Nagako mumei (piece welded onto possible yari blade) and copper abaki. Kashira and fuchi in black steel, bonze and gold. Blackened iron octagonal tsuba decorated with a crane emerging from a basket. Saya in black lacquered wood. Incomplete piece, as is. (NAGUINATA blade reassembled in WAKISASHI)
