Roger Pillaudin, 1927-1996, a theater man and radio producer, had followed the filming of Jean Cocteau's "Le Testament d'Orphée" with a team of radio technicians to make a report for radio, broadcast in February 1960 under the title 'Journal sonore du tournage du film Testament d'Orphée.' Faced with the success of these broadcasts, Cocteau and Pillaudin decided to broadcast a record of excerpts and to publish a book; so in March 1960 they sought a publisher."Le Duc Hermann" refers to Pierre Berès, owner of Editions Hermann; Jacques Doniol-Valcroze was one of the founders of the "Cahiers du Cinéma"; François Truffaut, filmmaker, one of the contributors, and animator of "la nouvelle vague"; Gérard Worms was part of the management of the "Editions du Rocher. The diary of 'Testament d'Orphée,' by Roger Pillaudin, was finally published in November 1960 by the 'Editions de la Table Ronde' under the title 'Jean Cocteau tourne son dernier Film.'
