Null NASA. DEEP SPACE. BIG FORMAT. The iconic Pillars of Creation reach out here…
Description

NASA. DEEP SPACE. BIG FORMAT. The iconic Pillars of Creation reach out here like a ghostly hand (a spine-chilling prospect: these "fingers" are some 5 light-years long!). This extraordinarily surreal yet real landscape was captured by the Webb Space Telescope's MIRI instrument. Three prominent pillars of semi-opaque gas and dust, each in spectral shades of blue-gray, start at bottom left and extend upwards to the right. From left to right, each pillar is consecutively smaller. Together, they resemble a ghostly hand. Towards the top of the leftmost pillar, there's a prominent red star, with tiny spikes at its tip. Further down this pillar, there are several areas of darker dust that stand out like protuberances, some with stars that appear as tiny red dots. The other two pillars lie below and to the right of the first pillar. The background of this scene takes on orange-red hues mixed with black, with the brighter orange hues forming a V at the top center of the image. The image is dotted with a few dozen small white and blue stars. Vintage chromogenic print. Numbering in the margin on the front. Legend on label on back. 20.4 x 25.4CM with margins.
