The badge was intended for Dr. Arpad Csanadi (1923-1983), an important Hungarian IOC member who died just before the Cession. A former basketball and soccer player, Dr. Csanadi played a major role in the history of the IOC, both on the Olympic Programs Commission and in the protection of symbols.
