Olympic Games/ Winter, 1948/ St. Moritz/ Badge/ Official badge. From the famous Huguenin workshops in Le Locle. The rings and sun are a reworking of Walter Herdeg's design (1930s). In red enamel, in gold letters: "V Jeux Olympiques d'Hiver, St Moritz, 1948, OFFICIEL". The sun and rings at the heart. These Games are those of a French star, the first of alpine skiing, a certain Henri Oreiller (1925-1962). He twirled around the slopes like the talented accordionist he is. The result of his recital: two Olympic titles (downhill (2nd Gabl at 4s), combined), a bronze medal in the special slalom. James Couttet's (1921-1997) silver in the special slalom and bronze in the combined completed the French team's harvest of 5 medals. Diameter: 3.2 cm Very good condition
