French 13th century illuminated psalter leaf from the Rheims Cathedral or Signy Abbey. Blue, red, and black ink on vellum. With colored ink letters; one pen-flourish letter in red with blue designs. Geometric designs at the end of lines throughout as well as a design of a snake with its tongue flicking out. A few areas of marginalia along the front of the leaf. With a certificate of authenticity signed by W.H. Graton affixed to the verso. In a double-sided frame so both sides of the leaf may be viewed. Provenance: Graton and Graton, Islamorada, Florida, 1989; Private Minnesota Collection. Sight; height: 7 in x width: 5 1/4 in. Framed; height: 11 in x width: 9 1/4 in x depth: 1 in.
