Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Studio porcelain double-rim pinch pot, ca. 1960s-70s. With a grey-green glaze and ovoid yonic opening. Not marked. MacKenzie only worked with porcelain for a short period of time in the 1960s and 1970s. Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.
