Victor Yepez (Ecuadorian, 20th/21st c). Group of three painted steel sculptures in the form of western figures wearing cowboy hats. Each signed and dated 1997 along the bases. Victor Yepez was born in Ecuador. Educated at the School of Fine Arts, Central University in Quito, Ecuador, he immigrated to the U.S. fifteen years ago and has worked as a sculptor, muralist, art teacher, and public artist. His biggest inspiration is his day-to-day surroundings. Relying on his imagination, he turns everyday reality into his own visual language. Yepez strongly believes that art is for everybody; he hopes that his work will play a role in creating a positive future with respect for the earth, justice, and dignity for everyone. Height ranges from 10 1/2 in to 17 in; width ranges from 8 in to 11 1/2 in; depth ranges from 6 in to 7 in.
