Vienna, Christmas 1934. 17 pp. 4°. HLdr. d. Zt. with re-gilding, marble boards and leather corners. Collection of 15 poems, some self-penned, some quoted, in clean Fraktur calligraphy, entirely on untrimmed laid paper. The drawings, made on delicate China paper, show birds (10 pictures), butterflies (5) and plants (1). They are each framed in passe-partouts created from two book pages. The delicate compositions are strongly reminiscent of Japanese woodblock prints from the Meiji period and are thus in the tradition of Japonism, which emerged in Western art in the late 19th century. - According to the note on the title page, "painted and copied for the benefit and pleasure of a true friend of free nature and the mountains". - Very occasional barely noticeable foxing.
