Korean lacquered wood chest, or traditional woman's combs and incidental box, ca. 1900. The chest is constructed of paulownia wood with brass fittings that are incised with foliate motifs. With lock in the form of a fish symbolizing abundance and good luck. From South Kyongsang Province.
