Large Chinese Han Dynasty ceramic hu wine vessel in the form of bronze and lacquer prototypes. With a wide mouth, articulated rim, and an amber glaze characteristic of vessels of this period. The sides with incised decoration and taotie mask handles. This item has been thermoluminescence tested and the date of the last firing was estimated at 1,500 to 2,400 years ago. The TL test document is not included with this lot but an image is provided in the listing photographs. Height: 15 in x diameter: 13 1/2 in.
