Tibetan Buddha, 19th century. "Avalokitesvara". Patinated bronze. It presents marks of use and wear. Measurements: 14 x 8 x 2,5 cm. In Buddhist iconography, Avalokitesvara can be represented with multiple arms and with multiplicity of heads as in this bronze statuette, to symbolize his capacity to help many beings simultaneously. Avalokite?vara represents one of the noblest qualities of Mah?y?na Buddhism: universal and unconditional compassion.
