Pair of candlesticks; France, Napoleon III period, third quarter of the nineteenth century. Chiseled and burnished bronze. Measurements: 25 x 15 x 15 cm (x2). Pair of candlesticks made in bronze whose design is framed in the transition between the late baroque and rococo. The model is the usual throughout the Baroque, a model of European origin characterized by a foot and a bulky shaft. The ornamental motifs are reminiscent of examples of the decorative art of the period known as Napoleon III style, but reinterpreted to suit the aesthetic taste of the nineteenth century.
