Aesthetically the set has a neoclassical style characterized by angular and geometric shapes. The cups bear the marks of the Sanz jewelry shop, which was founded by Felipe Sanz in Madrid. As an example of his work, Sanz mounted a short necklace with seven Colombian emeralds for Queen Victoria Eugenia.
