Mirror; Toledo or Syria, late eighteenth century. Damascene metal. Presents a later moon and wear. Measurements: 97 x 55 x 4 cm. Large mirror made of damascened metal on a wooden core. The mirror of rectangular perimeter with the upper corners reserves, is presented with a cover made of sheet metal that covers the entire outer structure following a design of architectural character. In this layer an intricate design can be seen, composed mostly of vegetal elements and kufic writing. The western tradition of metal work was joined by the roots and cultural heritage of the workplaces where the artisans displayed great talent both in the execution of the works and in the creation of particularly novel and original models and decorations. It presents a later moon and slippage.
