Bookcase with display cabinet Execution Schöttle's Möbelfabrik Stuttgart, around 1900, solid oak, stained medium brown, consisting of a bookcase and a column display cabinet, the columns of the shelf decorated with carved eagle heads, one side door with original brass fitting in the shape of a crown, the lower door of the column display case with fine floral decoration in xylectypom technique, key missing, unrestored original condition, one eagle's head broken and enclosed loose, dimensions display case 182 x 48 x 36 cm, shelf 179 x 99 x 31 cm. Info: During the Art Nouveau period, the Schöttle furniture factory was a progressive manufacturer that produced and sold furniture made using the Xylektypom process invented by the J. Buyten and Sons furniture factory in Düsseldorf. This process made it possible to mechanically decorate panels with attractive wood grain reliefs. Important artists provided designs for xylektypom furniture, such as Hans Eduard von Berlepsch-Valendas and Bernhard Pankok.
