Paris, Chez Jules Meynial, 1917-1921. 5 vol. in-18 in decorated silk-lined boards with illustrated dust jackets, gilt edges, presented in a luxurious pale pink box mosaic of eggplant calf and gold in a decor combining floral figures, gilt fillets and frames, interior lined with pale pink suede edged in gold with small tricolor cockade mosaic in corner (L. Castiglioni). Complete collection illustrated by George Barbier with 31 stencil-colored plates and vignettes in the text. Vol. 1917: ivory silk boards printed with a polychrome composition (headpieces, corners and one edge very slightly rubbed), black and gold illustrated dust jacket (spine very slightly yellowed), 6 colored hors-texte plates - Vol. 1918: pink silk boards stamped with a gilded composition titled Inexpugnable Psyché (jaws partly split), black illustrated dust jacket with light pink highlighting on spine (headpieces partly restored), 7 colored plates. - Vol. 1919: ivory silk boards printed with a large polychrome composition, black illustrated dust jacket, 6 colored plates. - Vol. 1920: ivory silk boards printed with a large polychrome composition (headpieces slightly rubbed, spine very slightly yellowed), dust jacket illustrated in black with light silver highlights, 6 colored plates. - Vol. 1921: ivory silk boards printed with a black and gold composition (spine slightly faded in places), black illustrated dust jacket with light pink highlights, 6 colored plates. These charming almanacs, illustrated by G. Barbier, are presented here in an elegant leather case in the taste of the period.
