Aragonese desk box, XIX century. In walnut wood and bone inlay. It shows signs of use and wear. Measurements: 21,5 x 44 x 30 cm. Desk-box with compartments inside for pens and papers. The pinyonet decoration, characteristic of Aragonese cabinetmaking, is based on inlaid bone inlays (pinion type) that are arranged in geometric and synthetic vegetal rosettes and fretwork. The marquetry decoration of small geometric pieces, known as grain of rice or pinyonet, appeared in Aragon from the 14th century with a clear aesthetic link to Mudejar art.

Arquilla. Syria or Egypt, XVII century. Wood and bone. It shows wear and marks of use. Measurements: 21 x 34 x 23,5 cm. Syrian or Egyptian continuation of the prismatic shape. The laborious work of inlay and inlaid wood and ivory stands out. It shows a markedly baroque style, as can be seen in the taste for the contrast of materials or in the profuse use of ivory, typical of Italian baroque cabinetmaking, on a background of ebony and walnut. All its sides are ornamented with ivory inlays that form a dense floral design alternating with geometric elements. It has a hinged front lid. Inside, the front is divided into three registers, the central one with a small door. One of the drawers has space for letter openers and other writing utensils. This drawer also has a small secret. On the lid, a central star organizes a rigorously symmetrical composition around it. The handles are made of metal, in the shape of a teardrop. It shows wear and tear and marks of use.
