Very Important and unpublished Bust of Mater Dolorosa, Manner/Attributtable to Pedro Roldan (Seville, 1624-Ibídem, 1699), Spanish Sevillian Baroque work from the 17th century - beginning of the 18th century In polychrome carving wood. Of sublime details, workmanship and expression, preserving a good part of its original polychrome and gilding but swept polychrome on the face and right hand, the cross is missing. Measurements: 30 x 20 x 15 x 15 cm. Unpublished work in the Spanish art and auction market to date, not subject to any reservation. Possibly a private devotional commission for a private chapel in Seville that would form a set with the preceding lot, the San Juan of lot 257. A technical-comparative expert report is attached at the buyer's request. Provenance: important Andalusian private collection, Sevillian palace, Seville, Andalusia, Spain.
