Artiom Tołstuchin (né 1981) Winter huts. Carpathian Mountains, 2010 Oil on cardboard, 34 x 49 cm. Signed, dated in lower right corner. * Artiom Tolstukhin - painter. He was born in 1981 in Crimea. He graduated from the Simferopol Art School named after Samokish at the faculty of illustration. As a result of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad, he entered the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art, where he studied at the Faculty of Renovation of easel and monumental painting. For 10 years he participated in the restoration of churches and other architectural monuments in Ukraine. He has been awarded numerous prizes for his work in numerous national and international competitions (for example, in 2011 he won first place in the "Visual Communication of Florence" competition). Since 2007, he has participated in group and individual exhibitions at home and abroad (including the USA, China, Ukraine and France), as well as in numerous plein-air exhibitions. Since 2012 he has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (Kharkov branch). His works are in private and public collections in Ukraine, the US and China. The artist sees his work as a constant search for new means of expression. In his works he combines different trends, espertimenting with techniques, including graphic and decorative ones. He emphasizes that art should bring positive, joyful emotions to people.
