Cary Grant Document Signed for RKO Radio Pictures DS, nineteen pages, 8.5 x 11, October 1, 1947. Agreement between Cary Grant and RKO Radio Pictures, by which the actor is employed to "portray the leading male role of 'Mr. Blandings' in a feature photoplay presently entitled 'Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.'" Signed at the conclusion in blue ink by Cary Grant, and countersigned by a vice president of RKO. In fine condition. A 1948 comedy starring Cary Grant and Myrna Loy, Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House humorously portrays the trials and tribulations of a New York couple attempting to build their dream home in the Connecticut countryside, only to encounter endless complications and escalating costs. The film, based on the 1946 novel by Eric Hodgins, remains a classic for its witty take on the challenges of homeownership and the American Dream. Bosley Crowther of The New York Times wrote that 'as straight entertainment, this ambling and genial report on a young advertising man's disasters (and final triumph) in becoming a country squire is as much casual fun as can be looked for on our sparsely provided screen.'

Actresses (9) Signed Sketches by J. Fred Johnson with Bacall, Crawford, and Fontaine Collection of nine original vintage portrait sketches of classic actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood, all of which are signed in ink by the pictured starlet, the majority of which are inscribed to the artist, J. Fred Johnson. The oversized sketches are accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on off-white sheets of drawing paper, approximately 13.5 x 16.5, and include the following actresses: Joan Fontaine, Shirley Booth, Jessica Tandy, Joan Crawford, Lee Grant, Patricia Neal, Myrna Loy, Lauren Bacall, and Deborah Kerr. Each is also signed in pencil by the artist, and several are matted to an overall size of 16 x 20. In overall very good to fine condition, with tears and paper loss to Crawford and Grant.

Two covered in pale celadon glazes, one with unglazed rim revealing the buff brown ware. The third partly covered in a thin gray glaze. Provenance: French trade. Condition: Overall good condition with some wear and firing flaws. One with few small chips to rims, another with a hairline to the upper rim, and the last with a repair and touchups to one side as well as soil encrustations.
