Sixty-four sheets with the typescript text and illustrated handwritten reproduction on the inside, double-page spread. Unbound and presented in a leather case with dry and gilt ironwork, in its original box. This copy was signed, dedicated and dated in 2008 by the artist himself.

South America - OBANDO (José Maria). El Jeneral Obando a la Historia critica del asesinato del Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, publicada por el S. Antonio José Irisarri. Lima, J. M. Monterola, 1847. In-8, [4]-229 pp. and [2] ff. in purplish half-sheepskin, smooth spine decorated, red speckled edges (contemporary binding). A good copy. First edition of this very rare justification, which sheds a harsh light on the clashes between the military during the long process of South American independence. General José Maria Obando (1795-1861) had been a rebel against Bolivar's government since 1828, and from 1831 to 1832 was the first President of the Republic of New Granada, which emerged from the dismemberment of Gran Colombia (1830) and then extended over present-day Colombia, Panama and part of Nicaragua. He defends himself here from any involvement in the assassination of Antonio José de Sucre (1795-1830), a lieutenant of the libertador Bolivar and elected president for life of Bolivia, who had come to fight the anti-Bolivarian rebellion.
