PROBABLY SPANISH OR ITALIAN SCHOOL, 18TH CENTURY. "PENITENT MAGDALENE". Oil on canvas. The canvas has been cut out and does not have a stretcher frame, as it has been directly adhered to a board that fits into the frame. The paint layer is visibly deteriorated. 90 x 130 cm; 113 x 151.5 cm (frame).

Artist's note: proper name Eduardo Luigi Paolozzi, Scottish graphic artist and sculptor (1924 Leith - 2005 London), son of Italian immigrants, 1945-47 studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, went to Paris for two years in 1947 and briefly studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Art, from 1949 lecturer at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and from 1955-1958 he taught sculpture at Martin's School of Art, from 1952 member of the Independent Group, 1959, 1964, 1968 and 1977 participation in the documenten in Kassel, 1960 participation in the XXX.
