This model is said to be by sculptor Pierre Blondeau, based on the creations of animal painter Jean-Baptiste Oudry. Issued for the first and only time in the 18th century for Louis XVI, this "Surtout des Chasses" table centrepiece was reproduced several times in the 19th century, notably for the Duc d'Aumale in 1848.
