In 1968, he moved to Montparnasse, where he taught art and art history at the Sorbonne from 1974 to 1986. In 1979, he was awarded the Fontenay-sous-Bois contemporary sculpture prize with his work "Couple" in elm burl and metal. Since then, he has taken part in over 150 international exhibitions. In 2012, he was awarded the Prix Européen Francophone des Arts Léopold Sédar Senghor.
