France Naval Officer's Saber 1837 Naval officer's saber. Total length - 90cm. The length of the blade with the handle (without sheath) is 84 cm. Blade length without handle – 70cm. The saber blade is steel, curved, bipartite (one fuller is wide). The heel area is not highlighted. The hilt of the saber consists of a hilt and a guard; its metal parts are made of bronze. The scabbard of the saber is made of all-metal steel, covered with leather with brass inserts. There is a mark HOSTIN written on the blade. Velbert, crown W 16 acceptance mark on the back of the blade, wooden grip scales with fireguard, found on the ground, blade stained, grip scales with flaws, grip and scabbard heavily corroded, total length 41 cm.
