Strong percussion pistol for shooting or hunting. Heavy, round, rifled, ribboned, damascus barrel, 12 mm (approx.), silver sights. Engraved, cut-out breech tail. Hammer and lock signed "LP Boitard à Saint Etienne", with rounded body, finely engraved with foliate scrolls. Finger rest. Cut-out iron fittings, engraved en suite. All screws guilloché. Varnished carved walnut stock. Cap with plug and screw ring for housing lead bullets. Iron ramrod with brass tip. B.E. Circa 1855-1865

Wood-cardboard box, size 48.5 x 37 x 8 cm, covered with fancy paper, open on the front. Inside is a shooting game with a large chromolithograph background showing a village fairground and a firefighters' demonstration on a wooden tower; in front are five cut-out wooden figures (three firefighters, the mayor, the village warden), each with a removable head, fixed to the owner's shoulders when at rest, but capable of jumping into the air (thanks to an elastic band) when hit by an arrow fired from a spring-loaded pistol. Saussine shooting game on the theme of firefighters. In good working order: when an arrow hits one of the heads, it is released and shoots into the air. With gun and ammunition.

Inside is a shooting game showing four fishermen in action against a countryside backdrop. At the end of their lines hang two fish, a frog and a shoe, attached by elastic threads. These aquatic productions are fixed at the bottom, revealing small targets to be hit by arrows fired from a spring gun (Eureka). Saussine system shooting game with a fishing theme. Defects, in need of restoration.
