Classicism chair circa 1800, solid cherrywood, slender elegant chair with trapezoidal seat on tapering sabre feet, high backrest decorated with carved palmette motif, partially ebonised, headboard with marquetry, one leaf of the carving missing, as is the blackened inlay work on the legs, needs restoration, h 98 cm, sh 48 cm. Info: according to the previous owner, the chair comes from Banz Abbey, a former Benedictine abbey north of Bamberg.
