A LARGE TAPESTRY WITH LIONS HUNTING ELEPHANTS A LARGE TAPESTRY WITH LIONS HUNTING ELEPHANTS Japan, 19th century The rectangular tapestry woven in hues of beige and brown, depicting a hunting scene with lions and elephants in a forest, the lower right signed HARUMINE (春峰), all within a silk brocade frame. The reverse lined with a cotton fabric decorated with alternating brocade patterns. SIZE 206.5 x 147 cm Condition: Good condition with some wear, small tears, creasing, loose threads, minor soiling, and browning.
