Suite of four armchairs stamped P. Achard (1750- ?), in molded and carved walnut, the medallion back decorated with a lyre. They stand on two sheath feet with reserves and palmettes on the front and two saber feet on the backs, scrolled armrests, Directoire period, seat upholstery in red velvet, H: 86.5 cm, W: 58.5 cm, D: 59 cm two molded and carved walnut chairs with openwork reverse backs, Directoire period, H: 85 cm, L: 43 cm, W: 37 cm Pierre ACHARD was a cabinetmaker in Grenoble during the Directoire period. His famous chairs evolved from the Louis XVI style to the First Empire.
