HISTORY - LIVINGSTON Jay (1915 - 2001) - Four autograph musical quotation signed Four autograph musical quotations signed by the American composer best known as half of a song-writing duo with Ray Evans that specialized in songs composed for films. Livingston wrote music and Evans the lyrics. Their third Oscar came in 1956 for the song "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be), " featured in the movie The Man Who Knew Too Much. Livingston pens two bars from “To Each His Own” (1946), one bar from the Christmas song “Silver Bells” (1951), two bars from the title song of “Mister Ed” (1961) and three bars from "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)" (1956). Dedicated to Derek Birch. 1 p. On cardboard (12 x 7 cm). - This item is under temporary import. Honour plaque Zerzabelshof fire brigade dated 24 February 1906, approx. 56 portrait pictures of the members of the Zerzabelshof fire brigade (district of Nuremberg), mounted in an oval brass frame on cardboard, with date of foundation, cartouche decorated with rocailles at the bottom centre, on it various fire brigade utensils in front of the fire station, age-appropriate condition, dimensions 93 x 114 cm.

Black and gold plate on the first cover: in the upper part, the head of St. Nicholas, a tall bearded man wearing a tiara; below, the shadowy figures of a boy and a girl reading on a gilded background; ornamentation of oak leaves and acorns. Complex decorative composition in black and gold on the spine. Publisher's monogram in black and gold in the center of the second cover. Collection, in hardback, of Delagrave's great children's magazine, launched in imitation of the American Saint Nicholas. Complete stories, contests, riddles, readers' letters... Like all publisher's magazines at the end of the 19th century, like Hetzel's Magasin d'éducation et de récréation, it was Delagrave's editorial backbone, helping to test new authors, prepare the launch of works by established authors, and build customer loyalty. Lavishly illustrated by M. Boutet de Monvel, Adrien Marie, Kauffmann, Geoffroy, Pinchon, Rabier... From 1903, the format changed slightly, and color plates appeared. The years 1897, 1906, 1908 and 1909 are missing, the first three years have suffered a little (faded spines on the first two, flecks on the spine of the third), the last years (1911 to 1914) are really rare. Nice set.

In-4, cream vellum (period binding embellished in the 19th c. with a smooth spine decorated in brown morocco). First edition illustrated with a vignette on the title, a portrait of the author by Moreau, 5 hors-texte plates and a large fold-out view of Reims. Important history of Reims written by Nicolas Bergier (1567-1623), historiographer of France, and published posthumously by his son Jean Bergier. A fine copy.
