Alex Pfeifer, Bittern 1st half 20th century, signed Alex Pfeifer on the plinth, foundry mark Bräunlich & Langlotz, brown patinated bronze, minimally stylised depiction of an Australian kiwi, on a vegetal plinth, mounted on a multi-part marble base, in good condition for age, h bronze 14.5 cm, h total 21 cm. Artist information: German sculptor, active in the 1st half of the 20th century Source: Internet.

Fort in-8, [4] f., 870 p., [1] f., red half-chagrin with corners, smooth spine, gilt author's name at head corner, gilt title throughout, cover and spine (faded) preserved, untrimmed, gilt head (upper spine partly split). First edition in French. Translation from English by Auguste Morel assisted by Stuart Gilbert, entirely revised by Valery Larbaud with the author's collaboration. Limited edition of 1,200 numbered copies: one of 200 copies hors commerce, and among these one of 170 on alfa vergé (no. 90).
