300 franc Serveau bill (1938-1939), Ceres head and Mercury head. Series H. Condition: Pinning, slight tears, folds and stains. The 300 francs Clément Serveau, also known as Cérès, was created on October 6, 1938, but only put into circulation on June 4, 1945. The bill was placed in reserve in the vaults of the Banque de France under the ever-increasing threat of war. The bill was printed after paintings by Henri Clément Serveau (1886-1972), featuring the goddess Ceres on the front and Mercury on the back.
