Oktober 2006, der die Echtzeit nach Vorlage des Originals bestätigt: "Die Zeichnung steht auf Briefpapier auf der Rückseite eines sicher ursprünglich an Heinrich Zille gerichteten Briefes. Der Künstler war äußerst sparsam und hat alle möglichen ihm zugänglichen Papiere bis hin zu Packpapier als Arbeitsmaterial benutzt. Ganz schwach zu erkennen sind noch Fragmente des roten Nachlaßstempels... Diese Studie ist als besonders gelungen zu bezeichnen: dem Künstler ist der Ausdruck des Dargestellten trefflich gelungen."
