Piranesi, Giovanni Battista - 1720 - 1778, Italian engraver, archaeologist, architect and architectural theorist: 3 volumes bound together in one book, Rome 1761-1764; red leather binding with gold-stamped spine title, floral ornamentation and a ligated and crowned monogram on the cover, gold-colored edges and marbled endpapers; contains: "Lapides Capitolini Sive Fasti Consulares Triumphalesque Romanorum Ab Urbe Condita Usque Ad Tiberium Caesarem", Rome 1762; dirt title with a pastedown ex libris by Sir Walter Rawlinson (1784-1805); title page, engraved dedication and plate "Lapides Capitolini" cut out / remaining pages including 4 small etchings by Piranesi completely preserved; attached: "Del Castello Dell'Acqua Giulia", Rome 1761; title page and plates II, IV, VIII, IX and XVII/XVIII cut out / remaining pages including 4 small etchings and 13 full-page etchings completely preserved; attached: "Delle Antichita Di Cora", Rome 1764; title page, plate II and plates IV (resp. Collection of tax measures taken by the Duke of Savoy, Victor-Amédée II, on January 14, 1720 (except for one on August 28, 1721), concerning taxes to be levied in various places in Savoy and Piedmont, on all kinds of commodities: tobacco, brandy, stamped paper, etc., as well as on other goods.
