Starcke, Richard - 1864 Naumburg - 1945 Weimar, German painter, illustrator and etcher, he was a representative of the Weimar school of painting, Starcke studied from 1880 to 1885 at the Königliche Akademie der Künste Berlin under Paul Thumann, from 1885 to 1888 at the Großherzoglich-Sächsische Kunstschule Weimar under Leopold von Kalckreuth, after his studies Starcke was appointed professor at the Weimar art school. "Frauenporträt mit Apfelschale", oil/painting card, genre-like depiction of a young woman in a parlor interior, she sits with folded arms at a table with a bowl of apples, signed and inscribed 'WMR' lower left, craquelure, traces of age, approx. 30x23cm, frame bumped approx. 36x29.5cm
