Starcke, Richard - 1864 Naumburg - 1945 Weimar, German painter, illustrator and etcher, he was a representative of the Weimar school of painting, Starcke studied from 1880 to 1885 at the Königliche Akademie der Künste Berlin under Paul Thumann, from 1885 to 1888 at the Großherzoglich-Sächsische Kunstschule Weimar under Leopold von Kalckreuth, after his studies Starcke was appointed professor at the Weimar art school.
