Description
Schubring, R. - Richard Schubring 1853 Dessau - after 1902, portrait and landscape painter; pupil of E. Hildebrand and Leon Pohle in Dresden, active in Berlin and Munich. He undertook numerous study trips to Italy and France, until the mid-1880s he was mainly known for his portraits, then his style changed to open-air painting and Impressionism. After 1900 he worked in Munich, specializing in coastal landscapes and seascapes. Schubring participated in the Dresden and Berlin academic art exhibitions from 1881, c. 1900, "Südliche Felsenküste", oil/painting card, impressionistic, strongly coloristic painting style, view of a surf foaming with spray in front of a rocky seashore, signed left and right, ca. 26.5x41cm, slightly dam. ca. 51x65cm
