Mühlbeck, Josef - 1878 Simbach am Inn - 1948 Munich, German landscape and still life painter, "Chiemsee", oil on canvas, idyllic view of the Chiemsee with Frauenchiemsee, on the shore a shepherdess with a herd of cows, signed lower left, small hole in the canvas, approx. 61x78cm, frame bumped, approx. 79x98cm. Mühlbeck studied at the Königliche Akademie der Künste in Munich, he was a pupil of Otto Seitz, after a period in prison in Nuremberg he went to Zurich in 1903, but returned to Munich in 1905 where he worked until his death. Mühlbeck was a member of the Reich Association of Visual Artists in Germany and the Munich Artists' Exhibition Association
