Fritz Beinke - Pendant - 1842 in Düsseldorf - 1907 ebenda, "Spielende Kinder", "Hirte mit Schafen", oil/panel, each signed lower right, minimally soiled, approx. 41x30cm, frame bumped, approx. 49.5x40cm. Fritz Beinke was a German genre painter of the Düsseldorf school, he was a pupil of Andreas and Karl Müller, Karl and Wilhelm Sohn and Eduard Bendemann, he undertook several study trips to northern Italy and Germany, Beinke was a member of the Malkasten artists' association, in his oeuvre, whose later works show the influence of Ludwig Knaus, his oeuvre, whose later works show the influence of Ludwig Knaus, is dominated by folk scenes of village life with children playing and animals, portraits and Rhine landscapes have also been preserved, some of his motifs were distributed as prints, paintings by him are represented in the collections of the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, Cologne, the Theaterwissenschaftliche Sammlung Universität zu Köln and the Landesmuseum Mainz.
