Hutschenreuther large "Ariadne auf Raubkatze" Designed by Karl Tutter in 1931, green lion mark with the addition Germany Kunstabteilung c. 1955, relief inscription and designer's name, stamp number 6 and dealer's label W. Weitz Hamburg, naturalistic moulding and underglaze painting, a woman sitting backwards on a snarling leopard as a nude with drapery, holding a necklace over her head and in eye contact with the feline predator, rare figure, one finger expertly restored, otherwise in good condition for its age with marginal glaze defects due to production, h 35.5 cm.
