Söllner, Max - chess - 1929 Nuremberg - 2003 ibid.German painter, ceramicist and graphic artist (studied painting and graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1949-56; was awarded several prizes in the 1950s; from 1959 he was represented in numerous group and solo exhibitions; In 1963, he founded the group "N" together with Toni Burghart, Egon Eppich, Arnold Leissler, Franz Vornberger and Gerhard Wendland; in the 1970s, Söllner was twice awarded the prize at the International Biennale for Ceramics in Vallauris, France; in 1990, he was awarded the International Art Prize for his artistic oeuvre; in 2005, the exhibition "Schach dem König!
