Baroque sloping flap chest of drawers, probably Saxony, mid 18th century, Walnut veneered on softwood, one-piece body with a slightly curved, three-bay chest of drawers, the sloping flap also slightly wavy, all sides with inlaid striped decoration in walnut and curly maple, simple interior with six drawers and four shelves, interior lined with brown felt, behind the four shelves a shallow secret compartment and four further drawers, top with pull-out supports for the writing surface, original locks and fittings, with key, signs of age and wear, minimal veneer defects, slightly in need of restoration, Dimensions 107 x 112 x 71 cm.
