In-8 green morocco, richly decorated ribbed spine in 18th-century style, gilt title, place and date, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, gilt edges, int. lace (Masson Debonnelle). Frontispiece, title vignette, 5 bandeaux by Wille, Eisen engraved by de Longueil, cul-de-lampe, 4 intermediate titles (engraved in cameos), 8 fine figures by Prudhon and Gérard engraved out of text. A superb copy of this fine edition, enriched with several suites of engravings (portraits, hors texte and vignettes) on China paper in black and sepia (in a separate envelope marked "Contes de Perrault", some of the plates in the suites are slightly foxed).

In-4 bradel style vellum with corners, title on spine and illustrated decoration in the same style as the book's ornamentation, illustrated embossed cover and spine preserved (Yseux, succr de Thierry-Simier). First deluxe edition of this tale from "Le Puits de Sainte-Claire", printed in an edition of 240 copies; n°XV of 25 on Japon with a black suite of all the illustrations on Chine (printed especially for Monsieur Dauze). The work, entirely calligraphed by Léon Lebègue, is illustrated with 38 original color compositions by the latter (including two on the cover). A fine copy enriched with a fine E.A.S. from the illustrator "Pour Mr Pierre Dauze, bibliophile éclairé et parfois éclairant, son collaborateur passé....et futur (?)" and a L.A.S.from Lebègue to Pierre Dauze about this work, mitered with its handwritten envelope (Paris June 15, 1904, 1 p. and ½ in-12). Ex-libris Eugène Richtenberger.
